Thanks, Greg, I checked with royce and you are ok to continue.

If you could try to keep it all to one thread that would be great though.

Greg,

I have merged the two currently active threads into this one, if you could keep all of your parts and ebay links in here that would be great! :D

Hi All,

Kenny, Tony and I have been exchanging messages, don't have any LJ50 seats and still sorting some blinkers, parkers and tail lights for him.

Ben, changing the name of the thread is fine with me and keeping it all in one is a good idea!

Hi DR_JOSH,

Australia is getting smaller all the time, I have parts on their way to Melbourne, Perth, Sunshine Coast and Lightning Ridge!

In the new year, people are coming from SA to pick up parts, distance is a small obstacle. Happy to email photos for your perusal.

Hi All,

Thought we would ask for some input, I have been grabbing things at random and listing on ebay.

If anyone wants something in particular, I have been emailing them photos and allowing them to make an offer as it is hard to me to value. Sometimes the first offer is fine and the parts are on their way, other times we generally come to an agreement, all good!
Below are some links to parts on ebay at the moment.

Sold, this will keep the tarp taut! :woohoo:

Sold, heading to where the sun sets over the ocean!
:woohoo:

Regards

Greg

LJ50 Jackshaft IS the same size + length as the LJ80 and Stockman, not unique to the 50. In fact, a common upgrade is to change over to the Stockman shaft with larger replaceable uni joints.

If this shaft you have listed is longer than an LJ shaft, then it is for an SJ40 Sierra.

Hi All,

Tanshi, there is a set of reed valves, the ones with 4 petals accross instead of 3. One of the mounting plates has been broken, I will take some photos over the weekend and post them early next week.

303zuke, perhaps I have got this wrong? I will have a closer look and edit the listing after that. Thanks for the input.

Regards

Hi All,
Memories can play tricks on you, I knew the LJ50 shaft was longer but was not sure by how much?
Below is a photo depicting the different lengths of Suzuki solid Jack shafts. LJ50 is the longest at 315 between centres (bottom), then LJ80 and Stockman at 306 between centres (middle) and SJ40 (1.0L Sierrra) is the shortest at 268 between centres. The Stockman had many improvements, one of which was 25mm diameter universals held in with circlips.

Have I ever fitted a Stockman shaft to a LJ50?
No, as I have plenty of spares.

Would I?
Absolutely, the lengths are close enough for the ammount of movement between the gearbox and transfer. With the LJ50 Jack shaft also being used in 2 stroke Carrys and allows for wheel travel. This makes the slip joint move in and out more than the difference (9mm).
Regards
Greg

Hi All,

tanshi, have taken some photos of the reed valves for you. The 4 petal type are the ones that I described and there is a lonely 3 petal type. What exactly are you after, do you need a set?

makes, very happy it arrived safely, always nice to get good feedback!

Regards

Greg

Hi Boggomobile, thanks for clearing that up, I have seen that minor length difference before with ones I have had here and assumed that it was a 50/80 thing.

There are also two different length 1litre ones plus a 1litre tube one that comes in Marutis

Hi All,

tanshi, 6 motors is a fair size collection! Am I reading this right, 6 motors and none of them have any reed valves? What happened to them all? Do you have any mounting plates for the 4 petal type as between us, we could make up a set?

Assuming that you are rebuilding motors for other people, have you had trouble getting the middle main bearings?

Regards

Greg

yep six is correct. I would like to rebuild them but getting bearings is proving very very difficult. i think i only have one 4 petal type reed valve. i have 3 others which doesnt really give me enough reeds

Hi All,

Tanshi, when you say that you have one 4 petal reed valve, do you mean the complete plate with 8 petals? The reason I ask is I have a full set of 4 petal type, but one of the plates is broken. Maybe between us we could make up a set for you?
