Hi all,

I bought a set of 15 x 8 sunnies a while back and am looking to get some muddies. Is a 30x9.5/15 gonna be too narrow for the rim (or too wide.. I don't know what the hell I'm talking about). I've currently got tyres that size on some shitty old rims running 4.9 transfer gears and I'm happy with the size but I will consider 31x10.5 if that's the consensus on here....

Any help would (as always) be appreciated

They will go on. But it will be easier to push dirt/mud/sticks into the bead when offroad, compared to a 30x9.5 on a 7" rim.

I've run this setup previously.

Never had any dramas with beadloss at 8-10psi.

I drive a bit of everything really but primarily bush tracks and the occasional beach trip.

Buckshots? Bighorns? KM's? KM2's? Baja Claws?

Bighorns are great value for money.
KM2's are probably the dearest option, but from what I have seen, they are a great all rounder, with rock being their weak point ( still perform quite well though)
Forget the claws for up here.
Goodyear wrangler MTR kevlars are a great beach and bush tyre. They clog a little faster than the KM's and buckshots in the mud, but perform well everywhere else.

Just got off the phone with the local tyre shop and was given the following prices.
31/10.5/15
Bighorns $240 but none available
KM2's $350
Wrangler MTR Kevlars $389

Does anyone know where would be a good place to buy tyres from? I like the sound (and if I'm honest the look ) of the wranglers but $389 is getting up there.....

It's really hard to get past the price of the Bighorns considering that 5 of em are cheaper than 4 of the Kevlars...

You can get Pro Comp Xterrain's in 31X10.5R15 for around $340 haven't seen any suzi's running them though

Try big tyre group at lawnton.

Also I highly recommend federal couragia MT's. You should be able to get them for under $200 a tyre and you won't be disappointed in their performance.

Bighorns seem noisier, but the luxo 80 compared to the ruff zook may be the thing.

also my local Jax @ blacktown will do the Wranglers MTR Kevlars for about 300 a tyre

They're also $$ apart
If you want a great tyre & $$ doesn't matter - I'm happy with STT's
If you want an affordable tyre that performs well, - I'm happy with the Bighorns

My 235s are on 15x8s.... I have had no problems yet, havn't really wheeled yet tho....

Well it looks like I'll be going down the KM2 path unless anyone has a better idea.

I've found 31/10.5/15's for $342 fitted and balanced at Ace Tyres Tingalpa.

I'm gonna paint the rims first but hopefully I'll be rolling new tyres next weekend!!!
