Words cannot describe how awesome it is to drive in this car, even just a flip down the shops and back. In a competition between a Ferrari and the ring-a-ding-ding little LJ50, this will pull heads every time :D

Wish I could buy her mate, but the missus would have me goolies for dinner. Good luck with it and I hope she finds a loving home 8)

Very cool car. It's amazing how much the two strokes retain the value.
Good luck with the sale.

okay guys got some photos of wheels and rust uploading to photobucket now

EDIT: here they are

the tyres
Image

tread depth, note it says about 6mm on there but its probably 3 or 4 more mm as its one of those stupid kids rulers where there is a bit of plastic before the numbers start counting, if ya know what i mean.
Image

and now for the rust, it actually looks worse on these pics

drivers side panel under the door
Image

drivers side footwell, those tiny holes are where the rust has eaten through in the last 38 years
Image

passenger side footwell
Image

there are a few lil bubbles here and there and some dings too. mechanically this car is fine, seems to me to be anyway, but im no mechanic. it just needs panel work and a good paint and she will be a dream. maybe even a small 1.5 inch lift and some muddies if you wanna wheel it, but keep the bar treads handy, always looks good original. i used to roll down the fremantle strip with a small ipod dock listening to rock n roll and watching everyone point and laugh. always good fun. better than being in a ghey commie that cant even drive over a speed bump

Hey Denzel, what's the exact diameter and width of the tyres and rims.

Trying to work out if I can fit them in the back of the Zook or whether I'll need to hookup the trailer?

Aron managed to fit 4 x 31x10.5's in the back of his Zook ... don't reckon you'll fit 5 in there though.

Take the spare off at home so you can fit one on the back and you should be right.

Understand how you feel about the Little girl, Dads has a fuggen corolla engine, just wish I could find his original engine to put back in it..... After all build Number 0008 deserves to be back to original.

Thanks Moph, that was a great idea. Caught up with Denzyl this morning to pick up the tyres and rims. Wacked four in the back and one on the carrier.

Thanks also Denzyl. The tyres/rims were a good buy for the money you were asking. I have already cleaned the rims and tyres up somewhat and gave them a quick lick of paint. Should look the goods on Lokidog.

Have a great trip to Canada and I hope everything goes well for you.

Also the LJ50 looks a classic and with a bit of work will come up a treat like some of the other LJ's floating about on the forum.

thanks heaps lokidog, good to have a quick smooth sale.

they are a good tyre and still in good knick. ill keep an eye on your build thread or trip pics to see what they loook like but a good set of muddies always transforms the look of a 4wd.

cheers

secure storage isn't that expensive
jack stands, disconnect the battery, change the oil and fill with fuel

how long do you plan on being in Canadia
you might not find another one when you get back

its a two year visa so i plan on using that all up. after that probably travel down through south america for 6 months or so.

i know, its sad. but in a way i kinda just want to get rid of everything and start over.

do you have any idea how much? maybe i will call up a storage place in case it doesnt sell.

If you're investigating storage look as far out of town as you can get back from, it gets exponentially more expensive the closer you get to the city.

Buy half a million of those moisture traps so the rust doesn't take over while you're away!

When I moved from Ravensthorpe to Perth I became homeless, but had 2 cars and furniture etc.

I ended up renting a storage shed big enough for a sierra and a small household's furniture
for $200 a month. just the usual concrete wall, roller door shed deal, easy access though

The place was just off Abernathy Road
