I just took my fuel tank out and to my suprise, there are rocks in side it?? Not just any rocks, but blue metal

I'm having a great deal of trouble getting it out... Any tips haha? I've been shaking it for over an hour

Take the fuel sender out.

Yes.

You won't get the rocks out any other way, because the filler neck passes into the tank, forming a lip inside. This will stop the rocks from rolling out.

Yep. Just undo the bolts and slide the sender out, then flip the tank over to get the rocks out.

easier ways to have a low fuel warning system isnt there?? or maybe not.....

Well, I find a good way of getting shit out of the fuel tank is to get bogged in a mud hole with sharp rocks, drop the arse hard enough and it goes clean through... Lost my tank in buxton...

Somebody probably read this thread viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31357&hilit=cleaning+out+fuel+tank but then didn't think to take the fuel sender out. Hence my JOKE at Want33's expense, didn't mean he was dodgey at all, or for him to get so butthurt.

Haha I have no idea, I'm pretty sure the owner before would have done it. He was the biggest backyard mechanic I've ever seen!

How long has it run with that stuff in the tank? Carby still I assume? I hope your fuel filters were up to the job. I'd be replacing them after you get the rocks out though.

Since I've had the car so about a year :/ but yeah I blew out all the lines and changed the filter and now it's running really well haha

You probably don't realise it but it was me that packaged and sent your rims. I sent them off only to find out I had been given the wrong address........ hence: "You are lucky you got your rims today." Instead of sometime next week.... :finger:
