Hi All
Been looking at a Manual Tire Changer off ebay and have watched a few videos off youtube to find out if they are anygood to own. I have 33's, 31's mud tryes and would like to change the rims around but getting a tyre shop to do this would cost a bit so if I can use a Manual Tire Changer then it will pay itself off.
But does anyone think it can handle a 33x14x15inch muddie?

check out a few vids and tell me what you think

cheers

I take it you're not worried about balancing? They're not too hard to change over, just be careful not to tear a bead. What are you going to use for lube?

I lost interest in that video halfway through. Just take them to a shop to be balanced if you're going to use them on road

The time you waste with a manual one, you better of taking it to a tyre shop. $10 for tyre change and balance

You'll be lucky to get that in every tyre shop, most will just say no cos it's a shit job.

$20 a tyre up here. That tyre changer isn't a bad investment

how often are you going to use it honestly, they are like hand winches, good in theory till after you've used them once.

I must say that watching these videos was like a trip down memory lane. This is the way all tryres used to be changed and balanced. Dynamic balancing machines are a relatively new invention. These devices all work well but the static balance is never as good as a dynamic balance IMO. Really depends upon whether you are doing a lot of bitumen driving as to how well you want the wheels balanced I guess. Nothing wrong with any of those tyre changing devices either. Cant see why you would not do a 33" tyre or larger with these.

Why not save the trouble and get them fitted to a spare set of wheels?

I have one of those Ebay tyre changers.
Bought it 5 or 6 years ago and changed hundreds of tyres on it without any dramas except the dyna bolts holding it to the floor pulling out once.
31', 33's, 35's and 37's fit but it won't break the bead on bigger than 35".
