See this is why people are confused about ruf, look at what you just wrote, did you actually do your ruf because from your description it seems you don't know what has been done to your car.

i have the rear spring in the front.... the rear spring hanger is drilled back 25mm....the shock plate thing is drilled back 25mm and so is the spring locater on the axel tube its self....and extended shackles....no bump stops...

as someone said before and salih has it they have extended shackles and the rear springs in the stock locaters and stock rear spring hanger....

^Wow. I can't work out if that will move the axle forward 15mm or back 10mm over a stock sierra, but it sounds weird.

Actually 2stroker, I think theres a couple of reasons there is so much confusion (or "denial" :D) about RUF.

RUF is not a bolt in mod. People who try and bolt it in end up with a rubbish result - this creates confusion because it looks like there's no reason to do all the work we do when we build RUF.

You can't do a RUF if you can't fabricate to at least some extent.

RUF needs to be considered as part of the whole car build. (i.e tyre size/guard cutting/compression travel desired/lift desired. This is going to be different for different people. If you don't know the importance of these variables for your terrain your'e not ready to RUF.

We're all on the same page here, we're just building cars to do different things. Re drilling hangers and throwing in some longer shackles isn't RUF, it's a mess of poorly considered competing parameters.

Compared to what? Front springs, or a chassis extension/steering box relocation/"full" RUF

Oh, and in case you think I'm just trolling for the sake of an argument, I'm not at all. We have/had RUF cars with no extension, and they are effective, but they are more compromised than cars with extensions/bumpstops etc. If you've not seen a range RUF cars built differently perform it's hard to judge.

If the springs are 75mm longer can't u split the difference between front and rear and save a lot of effort that's what u do for yj spring conversion
