Well, i thought it may happen... and it did.

seems like the chain on my t-case is slipping like a champ. making a god awful noise when i pull away hard and no noise if i baby it. does it fwd and reverse. Nothing brought it on specifically, just went for a moderate wheel last weekend (staked a brand new muddy while i was at it)

Now the question is, is it fixable? or am i up for a new case? what would you blokes do?

Either fit a new chain to your transfer or fit a Sierra (awesome) transfer.

Surely a slipping chain would do damage to its drive spockets :?

I vote sierra case. Not worth spending the money on the jimny case ( unless you have no need for the gearing that sierra t-case offers.....)

Doing the Sierra case swap isn't a cheap mod either. Your only running 215s right?

I put a chain in a coily case a while ago. It had been slipping occaisionally and I expected the worst but after fitting the new chain it drove fine. Perhaps not best practise but that car is still on the road 2 years later.

well the 215s are BRAND new so im not changing them due to this happening. Sounds like a case swap with another jim is the best option.
is the gearing the same across each model?

I just want to be able to drive it again without spending bulk coin on it. its practically undriveable at the moment, would love a sierra case but i fear the time involved in sourcing all the parts is going to be extensive and expensive.

how much are you blokes asking for the cases? Shoot me a PM

My Sierra tcase swap cost me:
$290? For the kit
$60 for both shafts
$120 for the case with 4.16 gears.

And about 10hrs to get it perfect :-)

I've seen hole's drilled & thread's tapped to make an adjuster in these piss weak chain case's.

If you find a WT case make sure it has flanges. You need to retain the WT flanges.
