Looking at getting either of these tyres in 215 75 15 for my jimny, I've read up about each, but after opinions on why to go one over the other or vise versa

I've seen Km2's in action on steep rutty, muddy hills, I was impressed.

From reading the reviews they are both good tyres. Is price a factor at all? i remember when i was looking for tyres the KM2s were always more expensive sometimes stupidly more expensive then another tread i was looking at.

I got a quote for both types fitted and there's about $55 difference between the 2. The kl71 being the cheaper

Price is always a factor I guess, but when it comes down to I'll be willing to spend more for something better

Wow thats pretty good! in some sizes I was looking at, it was nearly that price difference per tyre!

km2 are good man, i got em.
check out tirerack.com and import a set for cheaper than local, thats what i did.

I've owned both, KM2's were great on road smooth and quiet for a muddy and awesome off road will defiantly be getting them again
KL7's were fuckin shit! on road you could really feel the lugs while driving under 30kph and the noise at 80kph and above was farked , we only used them off road a few times and it wasn't in the mud so i wont comment on there off road ability, these were taken off the car after 11000kms

Not always the case. I just bought a set(5) KM2's and it worked out to be $20 cheaper to get them here.

Have to consider fitting and balancing costs, if buying on line, too.
Most tyre places fit and balance in the price

Prices or currency has,change since I bought from Tirerack, I saved a few hundred.
I looked around in aus this time and got my 30's for cheap

I think tyre shops are charging double to fit imported tyres now a days.

Plus tyre rack put all there postage up, and there is the risk of getting caught at customs and getting charged the dutys (which alot of people forget about).

Thanks for all the advice, I've decided on the bf Goodrich km2s, should have them on in time for the weekend. What's everyones views on the white lettering? Have it out or have it hidden? I think hidden will look better

I've got KL71's on my Vit. I don't find them to be overly noisy, or squirrely on road. Now that my camber is set correctly, they are wearing slowly and evenly. Fine at all speeds.

Great on the beach, great in the mud, not bad on dirt/ gravel.

I'd buy them again.

Actually you have - they were on Brendan's car on the recent Andersons/Robertsons trip.

But can't believe how good the Km2's were.

I don't think the hardness was the problem. Tread compound is irrelevant in mud. I agree the tread wear might well have been a big issue, but I don't know that the tread on the KL71's is that deep even when new?

I'll add that the KM2's we saw were also A) Brand spankingly new and B) In the perfect Sierra size (33X10.5)

Most new tyres, if available in that size, would work very well in a sierra.

Those 33 10.5's are very close in size to my old 9/34 swampers.

I'm very happy with my 30" KM2s, on the road you'd think you were on road tyres given the complete lack of noise and excellent grip. (though I do have a 1l Sierra, not the quietest car around)

I've found them to be brilliant and sand, okay in mud(good, but not great), great in paddocks and excellent on the road.

Tyres look awesome on the car had some issues with them touching the front bumper and issues with 43psi in each tyre.... Who the f... Are they trying to kid?? That's just flat out dangerous
