Wanting to fit 33"s with minimal work possible. Has anyone moved the Hangers forward for the front Backwards for the rear by say 50-100mm. Then added extended shackles? To even up the height?
Anybody done this? or not done this for a reason? Have 2inch BL and sus lift at the moment.

the body will be the biggest problem. Moving the diffs in most cases means chopping panels. Is this an issuw for you?
Also 50mm is not very much. What reason do you have for wanting more wheelbase?

Front diff can be moved 25mm or so forward before the pitman arm is an issue. Rear diff can be moved about 12-15mm before it smashes the fuel tank.
Moving both diffs 50-100mm is possible but is a lot of work.

Well, I was going to do a ruf. But I already have aftermaket spring and can't be bothered messing around sourcing new stuff when I thought if I just move the hangers apart and get extended shackles it will move the front diff away from the firewall. That's the main reason. The 31s I had rubbed going a bigger tyre it will rub more. Need more space!!

I don't want to start chopping panels that i don't need to though, The 31's fit nicely. Just need the frotn diff forward that's all and wanted to see if anyones done it this way. I'll give it a shot and then post up some photos of how it goes.

Just re drill the spring pads ad U bolt plates. It's possible to take the front axle forward about 35mm this way - nearly the same as full RUF. This is what I did years ago to run 9/34 swampers without guard interference using front springs.
Steve.

Move diff forward 25mm/ruf
33's will fit on with less lift than you have now.
Oh also get a BFH

I was considering that steve, just not to sure what effect it will have on the springs. I thought it would've unbalanced them, moving the diff from the centre of the spring.
If not, looks like this will be the option.

I can see no problem with it. It's been done for years, including by hilux owners for the same reason. Steve.

Tyron, you're only drilling the pad and plate, not the leaf itself... but even if you did drill the leaf, the clamp effect of the plate stops that part of the steel "working" anyway, so while it might be weaker its totally clamped down so will be fine.

I mean unstable from reposition the diff in location with the middle of the spring by moving it further forward and throwing the balance off weight being in the centre. although knowing now that other people have done it and don't have a problem with it. Looks as if i will be doing this.

the car yes. what I'm unsure of is the leafs structure from moving the diff outside of what is the centre of the leaf. Obviously not going to be a problem.

Hilux rear springs are has a centre bolt several inches offset. It'll be fine.
