I've left my car sitting for three months while i've been away, and in the process i've noticed the air intake plenum thingy has filled up with fine leaves. I don't want the heater box filling up every six months, so I plan to block it off, or filter it to the point where nothing can get in. I'm thinking maybe of getting some stainless mesh in behind and getting it tack welded in place... but that won't be cheap to sort out and will require pulling out the dash and heater box.

Can anyone show me how they've fixed this on their Sierra's?

I saw some on here I think cut up some magnetic rubber strips and put them in there
