I would be more inclined to think the local law enforcement would be a little more excited to see a young "p" player with his ultrasonic ricer dragging its ass on the ground with 3.2million watts of stereo pumping out 200 db than pick on a slightly highish, wide tyred, roof mounted light carrying zook with a blisteringly fast top speed capability of over 80kmph! Guys in reality and this may not be all cases, if you drive like a dick you will get pulled up and bitch slapped by the law! If you drive responsibly and keep mods to sane limits the law won't be your problem only insurance will be in the event of a claim.
Just think, when is the last time you heard about street racing in a Sierra, vitara,x90,jimny? What about young bloke wrapping his Sierra around a pole at 200 and decimating all on board? Slight modifications that may be illegal will be overlooked 99% of the time just because of the chosen cars we drive and how you drive it. I am not condoning this nor encouraging anyone to fit mods... But I know my car may have a thing or two and my sons car "p" plater and we have NEVER even been looked at twice. Keep it sane and all is good. We also DON'T drive around for days on end after going through excessive mud.....straight to car lovers and clean it, no need to draw unwanted attention for something stupid like can't see blinker operating effectively and ending in, car is a bit high, tyres bit big etc. play it smart.

Unfortunately most tend to learn this with a bit of 'experience'.
