jrZook - I am talking weak at the spark plug - After I come back from Dubbo I will look further back in the system as you suggest and also test the voltages right through.

Blakey - Yes that is why when you see a spark at the plug when holding it to earth and turning the engine over it does not mean you have a spark when it is under pressure in the cylinder.

Hi Guy's and Girl's - I just got back from Dubbo with my great set of new teeth so watch out because now I can BITE

While down there I called into the Dubbo Suzuki car dealers and had a really nice chat with Bill the nice old'ish mechanic there about this.

He told me some interesting bits and pieces about these engines such as he has seen Timing belts break or tear teeth out but never jump although he had heard that they can if they get ENOUGH oil on them.

He also told me that the coil and igniter on them virtually never play up BUT the distributors all do SOONER or LATER.

The spark should be BLUE and bright and it should be able to jump a 2cm gap at least so that is my problem for sure.

He also tells me you can NOT fix the distributors yourself unless you are a GOOD Auto Electrician with all the right gear - He sends them to Sydney buy it costs a lot and I should try and get a second-hand one first.

So anyone out there got one I can buy PLEASE.............................

 Darkhorse - The Suzuki mechanic seemed fairly certain, like 99%, that this was the problem as I had already done the Coil etc and Rinoman thinks it is not the computer so there an't nothing else left :D I hope.

Well that worked well - I have a slightly better spark now BUT it seems I now have no fuel being injected - I used my test light at the injector pug again and it barely glows where as it was a good flash before.

The new dissy has four pins in the plug receiver where as the old one has 3 and a blank space however there are only 3 wires on the male plug on the car wiring - As I understand it part of what the computer does is if it does not get a signal it is expecting from the ign system it turns the fuel off and that is what seems to be happening now.

Anyone know anything about this at all?

Different all together from the type 3 one on my engine - The wire plugs directly into the side of the dissy - That one looks the same as the 1992 wreak out the back.

OK Got fuel again now - turn motor over with no plugs and get a damp/wet patch on my hand when held over the plug holes on all 4 cylinders.

Got a blue spark.

Still hates me :rambo: :rambo: :deadhorse: :deadhorse:

Right now this looks like a great idea - Anyone got a cannon I can hire?

I know it's a stupid question, but are you sure the dizzy is timed right? Spent two days trying to get the 1600 in my zook going to find out the dizzy was one tooth out.

It is correct by all the mechanical marks so should at least fire, cough, back-fire or shit itself.

It really does not matter which you use (1 or 4) as long as both valves are closed and the piston at TDC the rotor button is then pointing at number lead you are using and then set the rest of the leads accordingly

Went over the whole thread again to refresh my memory.

It dont make sense really. You got fuel, you got spark, you got compression, i assume you have no blockage in the air intake, and i assume no little punk has wedged a peice of fruit in your exhaust!
