Hi guys, i have search a bit and some of the people use garden edging from bunnings to extend the flares..
i am just wondering how you guys mount the garden edging ?

I used screws, it gets ripped off really easy if you rub a bank or something.

A friend used tek screws, another one used tek screws through beer bottle caps to spread the load. On my cars a combination a rivets and tek screws through plate cut to size hold the flares on. Clark Rubber are expensive, find a rubber supplier and it will be cheaper.

I attached mine with hopes & dreams
I think I used 25 screws & washers on each wheel arch.

I think I used 25 screws & washers on each wheel arch. Holy shit!! I think I used about 8 on each arch. Bought 65x6mm rubber from the great outdoors shop for about $30 and allowed 1m per arch on my sierra. Works a treat!!

I dunno bout where you are but Clark rubber is about the ONLY rubber supplier that I know of lol

bunnings is like 15 bucks for 20 m so when you tear a bit off you screw a new one on!! oh yh and just use normal metal self tappers

You can get different sizes of nutserts. But nutserts seem like a lot of. Effort

Garden edging is awesome because it holds its shape well and is tough, but it's also hard on the car. It's very strong- typically stronger than the guard its bolted to, so it's not uncommon for the garden edging to cause damage to the guard if you bump a bank with the flare.
I use it, and I'm happy, but it would be nice if we could get the 4.5" wide rubber flare material that's available in the US.

If someing like a nutsert is to much effort... i can only imagine the effort and kwality that go's into ones workmanship

I have clark rubber type flares on my trailer, look good, strong enough, but a down side is that they stick to stuff, rather than slide over stuff. Will be replaced with something slippery one day.
I had bunnings garden flares on my Sierra, very good. I solved the problem of them them damaging the panels by trimming off the stiffening ridge on one side, gave them more give

I was only stating that because there are easier quicker ways of doing it. And as for quality and effort. Mate I work will stainless steel all fucking day, I have to put all of my effort towards it and make sure the finished product is 110% so go question someone else workmanship.

Point me to the bit where i discredited your workmanship with stainless steel.. by the way, if it is done to 110% that means it isnt to the design spec as something can only comply 100% Next time i get a tech screw in my tyre ill think of your zuk  Chill out  Edit: tech screws are a pet hate of mine, they arnt designed for automotive use as far as im concerned vibration is there worst enemy.. im genuinely sorry if i offended you.

I have the bunnings flares on mine just tech screwed to the w/t flare very durable and Ive rubbed them up against the bank many times with no damages to the pannel work.
