Well then, I may just have to start one!
I have been looking through a few of the build threads and there are a couple I like.
Just want to firm up what issues are evident in the first of the new shape compared to the 07 models on wards.
Thanks Shep

Why does the quote button not work in this thread?
I can't use a solvent degreaser in my parts washer so kero is no good

Any one know of any posts or photos regarding lifting up rear wheel carriers? Cut and welded the one on the SV, but just want to see how others have tackled it on hard top vits/GVs.
With the 235/85 on the back it sits hard on the rear bumper, so really need to raise it 2 - 3cm to give it enough clearance. I could maybe get 1cm by redrilling the holes in the bracket, but that isn't going to be enough.
Tried searching but didn't have much luck.

FatZook did this for me a while back: ***Not letting me post [IMG] codes... WTF?*** First post on this page anyway: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11477&start=300Cut the flat mounting sections off and re-welded as high as it could with the existing steel. If you needed more it'd be a simple matter of some 25mm flat bar to replace.

Is there such a thing as a sierra rear transfer flange that doesn't have the handbrake stuff attached. Ie a rear flange with 8mm bolt holes to fit a 4wd light transfer

Hi,
New here so go easy :)
Just picked up my first 4wd on Friday (2005 GV - Manual 2.5) and have been looking around and searching pretty prolifically. Just wondering if there is a thread on problems these things can/do have? I will post a thread on my car and hopeful future upgrades in the next coupla days - any suggestions as to which thread to post this in as I will likely have many questions...

This isn't overly helpful, but in the spirit of Grimbo...
Click on the 'Rigs of Auszookers' section. Scan down the list for threads about GVs. Any thread over a couple of pages will probably give you a pretty good idea of what they are like to live with.
...and welcome! Nice looking GV.

Is there a thread on rear brake shoe replacements?
Adjuster and small spring fell off. Just need to know where everything goes. Suzuki Manual is useless.
If not i may have to work it out and make a new thread up.. Got the other wheel as a reference (Just hate springs!)

I have had a look but can't find anything substantial/technical (most opinionative). Is there a thread on here regarding wheel spacers? I am intrigued at these and whether they are worthwhile or not (pro's vs con's)...
