What I did was get 2mm sheat cut at 50mm , then I cut the hole tunnel out.
I followed the line in the floor with the grinder then with tunnel out of the car I fitted the tcase with the drum handbrake and fullsize rocktoy ring and just_cruising's tcase lift .
While the tunnel was out I welded the 50mm strip on and to the tunnel and double plated were suzuki had, I then just mocked it up trimied and adjusted and added in the side bits u see in the picture

Thanks mate, I'm thinking of something very similar but tapered down just behind the handbrake so I can weld the back seeing as mines a ute.

Will work out the gearbox cross member first then see what I get to

This gearbox cross member has me a bit stumped, does anyone have any pics or links to show what others have done?

Looks like it might be a "cab-off" job to do new cross member

The only one I saw was definitely a cab off job but there's more the one way to skin the cat

You should be able to remove that section of crossmember lift the Tcase and make a new RHS section to come down below the front drive shaft (like a 1.3)

On the 1.3 when doing this mod you have to bash or cut out a little bit of the footwell so the drive shaft UNIs don't hit. I'm not sure about a 1L as they have a smaller transmission tunnel anyway...

Never had to cut the tunnel on mine for the driveshaft, but I had 3 inch bumpstops.
