Both these starters are listed for the sierra. One mentions it suits (some).

One is alot bigger than the other, here are the specs

the one in the second pic suits a swift or fwd configured gearbox with the offset holes on the nosecone of the starter.

I bought a starter moter a month ago and the guy gave me the second one which does not fit

there are 2 versions though... there's the stock sized one and there's a smaller aftermarket version which is better for people running g16 blocks.

Can i fit the fatter version of the top one to my 1.3? I pulled it out of a very early jimny

yes you can , the fatter one is just a direct drive off the armature , the thinner one has a little "gearbox" in it (reduction drive) the thinner one produces more torque , the fatter one works fine and has done in many a sierra.

Just fitted the g13bb jimny starter motor, was exactly the same size and shape as the one i pulled out.

Repacement one sounds a little different than the old one, do they need lining up perfect when fitting it or just line bolts up and tighten?
