I been doing a little research and found the genuine Suzuki bearings used for our beloved kingpins aren't the toughest around.

I found that NTN bearings make the same type of bearing we need and they are
" case-carburized components. Cups, cones, and rollers are made from case-hardened alloy steel of “Bearing Quality” to provide superior fatigue life and reliability."

A gme put me on to these he is running them, shimmed 4wding every weekend the bearings have done 20,000 he checked them the other day and they still look fine.

I'll be using them next, just some options for Jimny owners and food for thought.

You'll probably find that Genuine bearings ARE actually NTN or Koyo! Beware with some NTN bearings, as they are made in both Taiwan and Japan. Go with the Japanese made ones.

As someone who had had a major bearing failure on my kingpins, I can say that I honestly don't think this would make much difference, I can't hurt sure, but if you are loading your bearing enough to fail (like I did) it is beyond operating perimeters anyway and should not be loaded that much to begin with. But like I said, can't hurt
