springs catching on the springs seat, rotate the spring 10mm away from the recess on the spring seat.

have a search there should be some pics floating around.

My Vitara was doing that, took ages to find it. It was loose body mounts on the rear end.
I was lookin at springs etc, too.

on the 500km check up they would have just checked for loose bolts etc, it's quite common for jimny's to make this exact same noise.

i gave up on fixing it and just got used to the noise, the springs do just move around in their seat. every time i go out my rear left will rotate up to a 1/4 turn back to being noisy.
i find if i rotate it hard up in the seat its actually quieter longer.
