i ran them on my sierra when i first went to 31's - i then sold them to Moph....

IMO - there's far better bang for your buck in a tyre. Even Moph is considering going to KL71's now to replace the coopers.

KM2s are a good tyre, there's no question about that. But i still much prefer my KL71's.

Just put some 245 70 r16 on my stock xl7 2003, trimmed the from bar and plastics, and a little metal Infront of the drivers wheel, looks good an extra inch of clearance, even better with my 2 inch lift coming!

so i'm looking at something like the Cooper ST - 40% / 60%
only other tire i've really found that i like the looks of have been the Dick Ceepek FCII's

as our rig will be staying mainly on the blacktop for the moment, is it worth going an aggressive set of A/T's ? or just straight to MUDS?
i've only ever had Muds on the last two cars however as this has now come to our 1 car only family car, i won't be taking it offroading every other weekend at this stage.

but thinking maybe the ST's aggressive looking A/T - any other A/T's out there that would be considered aggressive enough to get me through mainly rocks -> we've learns how expensive playing in the mud can be so now we're up to that stage in life of playing with hill climbs and rocks.

I'm sure this has been asked a million times over....but I'll ask anyway.

I'm stuck between two tyre choices; Maxxis Bighorns and BF Goodrich KM2's. Put the prices aside.
Most of my driving will be done on the blacktop. I will be using my trayback on the farm I work at and also on the weekends (when I get a chance). Most of the stuff down here is ruttted slop/clay and during summer just solid clay roads.
I'm looking to go to run a 33x10.5R15 on a 15x8. Will "hopefully" run 6.5 reduction gears and a g16b further down the track.

I'm not in any rush, just wondering if anyone has any experiences with both.

hey would a good year wrangler Duratrac goodyear duratrac 225/75r16 fit on a jimny?? just thinking of buying a jimny in the next year or so but i currently have a sierra. 215 seem to be mose common on a jimny.

Had them on my rodeo and done 55000 km's bit over half wornout so they have lasted well im my experience.

I guess if I gotta chop guards it won't be a lot that will need removing but at the same time probably not much of an advantage having that little extra size in the tyre

biggest problem with smaller sizes and AT patterns is that the voids are quite small... You should go look at some in your size in person before buying to make sure they're aggressive enough for what you intend to use them for.

I do drive mostly in in the sand so an over aggressive mud tyre doesn't really help in the soft stuff. Highway tyres are some of the best tyres on sand anyway haha

I've just gone and had a look at the new style vs old style bighorns and i much prefer the new style. They've gone away from the center lugs being like a buckshot and gone to something that resembles a wrangler center.

Only problem is, according to the tyre shop I can't get maxxis treps or bighorns in a 10.5 wide and I think a 12.5 is going to be too much tyre to push about.

Really more interested in if many one has run both. Maxxis are cheaper but I've never really heard many bad things about the KM2's. Just not sure if they'd be on par or preferably for the price, better, then bighorns

ok... been reading through to see if I could find my answer but I didn't see it..... so.......... currently I have 31"x10.5" Cooper STT's on a 15"x7" rim on my Sierra. I like the look of them etc and as I don't drive it often the noise isn't an issue ( I don't think they are that noisy anyways ) but...... I want a another set of tyres, thinking all terrain, for the standard 1985 rims that are in the shed. I would like the option of an all terrain for when we go to Lancelin as the muds tend to dig in a little too much in the sand. the standard rims currently have the normal 205/70/r15 or whatever it is but in a HT tyre and they look small as. when I fitted one to the car to see what they'd be like it looked absolutely retarded!

so... my question is.... I was getting to it......... what tyre can I fit to the standard 1985 Sierra rim that would be bigger overall, more so the sidewall height, that wouldn't look so stupid. the car has a 2" spring lift, custom mudflaps and rubber flares which add to the retarded look when fitting the small standard rims/tyres??

am I too limited with the standard rims? I was thinking of a size around the 29" x 9.5" but not sure if they would fit.

29" your looking at a 235/75R15 (28.8")
I bought some in a Roadstone M/T, but I got them cheap direct from the distributor.
Ended up siping the tread blocks to quieten them down, but they will never wear out on a Sierra...

cheers but need to know if a tyre that size will fit on the standard 1985 type rim. also not after muds as I already have a set, after an all terrain for sand and normal road driving so I don't wear out the Coopers.
