I didn't want to go off topic on Chester's post re: race harnesses but what I would like to know if anyone has put retractable seatbelts in a car that came out with non retractable belts.

Is it a case of mount the main points to the standard locations and cut out a hole for the retractor part?

The reason being, my Sierra ute was fitted with non retractable and with the GTi seats and my ever growing work of art, It just won't fit.

Stock wt swb items bolted straight in my lwb but mine is a full body.

Check to see if there is a cover plate down near the floor on the b pillar (same place as your swb)

Passenger side has something from another vehicle but I need to change it, The above Klippan doesn't fit either.

That's a good solution, I was thinking of cutting out a square section for the adjuster to sit inside the body. Just so it looks a bit more standard.

It's just so the retractor has somewhere to live, there's no force applied onto it as the mounting points would be the standard bolt holes.

In the LWB (not tray back) it does have a cover that can be removed for it to sit into. The mounting plate for it is a tight fit and may need some trimming.

Yea sorry, Not sure what I was thinking of.

Just had a look at a WT here, It has a 'cover plate' that looks like the retractor bolts to it. Is that what you plan to use?

Yeah, just that the trayback doesn't have that cover. Just the anchor points for the belts.
