Hi All, I have an aussie 1998 grand vitara XL7 that we need to fit the jaycar kit to, but damned if I can find a wiring diagram online.
I have dropped the fascia under the steering wheel, and can easily see all the looms that go into the instrument cluster, I just need to know which loom and what colour wire please, 2 looms had black wrapping, one had red wrapping.
Need to do this tomorrow so hope someone can help overnight.
Much appreciated.

Of course I read it, you have a 2002, I have a 1998, Fordem said it may have been different, my blue and yellow wire comes out out of the engine immobiliser which did not work, hence why I asked.
The wiring diagram I have says it also may be Blue and yellow, but that is the diagram for the 2002, but also says 1998-2002, so far I have only found that one blue and yellow wire going up into the cluster.

As far as I know, the XL-7 was not released to the market until 2001 - the speedo wire is blue/yellow on the early XL-7 same as it is on the early GV.
I suggest you leave the looms under the wheel alone and remove the cluster, or, if you must go under the wheel, remove the cluster and trace your way back.
