Hey Guys,

Need a favor here, Im away from my vehicle at the moment. I need to order a new receiver dryer as im replacing an aircon hose in a few days time when I get back home. Can anyone enlighten me to a part number or generic ID of the can so i can order one in ready for my arrival? Pics of the can and number would be even better!! The aircon suppliers dont have a listing in their books for the Jimny so a picture tells a thousand words.

Cheers fellas.

Sorry I forgot.
This is the best I could get in the dark. Couldn't see a part number though.

haha all good ZN.
I cant see the can though? it should have a sight glass on the top of it. That radiator thing is the condenser.
a bit like this, probably have a plug on it too for a pressure switch.

Shows how little I know about AC. I don't remember seeing anything like that, do you know where it's mounted?

Somebody (the auto electrician I think) pointed that thing to me and said that it was the dryer.

Scales

I just took a look at my 2009 model and it does not have the traditional receiver/dryer as pictured above. Not under the bonnet anyway. It is either under the dash (and I can't say I have ever spotted it there) or it is built into the side of the condenser and is the tube in the second photo supplied by Mr ZN. I know what I should be looking for and it was certainly not there. That got me curious so I checked my 2006 commodore and it does not have one either but it does have a sealed canister in one of the lines but it looks totally sealed with no sight glass on it. I suspect it is done a different way these days.

Thanks Mike!

Its all very strange, The guy from the aircon dealer said something about a bag of dessicant being in the line somewhere (i imagine inside a canister). Ive never seen one though. I got a mobile aircon guy coming round when I get back to make the hose I need. I might ask him where it is.

I might have to end up swapping the hose as quick as possible and vac the system straight away. Id like to avoid this though as you should change the dryer whenever breaking the system.

Mine is different. I remember my old Jimny looking like this and the photos above.
Sorry but I couldn't find a part number in the manual.

Yep that's what I'm looking for! Well as long as it exists is the main thing. I should be able to source a generic replacement.

I'm in the process of ordering one for mine. Turns out VVT is different and the photos I put up are the receiver dryer. Replacement of the VVT model dryer is a kit that overhauls the existing unit for $89.50.

Shit that's pricey. It must be the bag type then I'm guessing. Was that from Suzuki?

In the location where Sookie has his receiver dryer I have thermo fans. Most likely Zukenutter does as well so the VVT models are a different arrangement.

For anyone interested. The part number on the sides of these things is
95330-77G00

and after contacting ashdown ingrams, their part number to match it is. rdx281 Im going to pick one up now. It was a bit of an effort to get the number without removing and interfering with the system.

they are 28 bucks.
