well, 12 months or more ago i chose some bearings that were larger and decided to make them fit my front end. the rule was to chuck em in, not touch them for whatever reason then pull them out after a year. well, the results were pretty good. i'll post the part number when i find the paperwork  ...........here is the lowdown on it..............

these bearings will give you an extra 8mm of bearing width...every little bit counts.

the condition of the lh side after pulling down.......not very nice.

on the other hand the bearings are still in fantastic condition.

now i run a vitara bearing adjuster and locking tab as it takes up less room.

measuring the difference in hieght to work out how much i need to machine the hub......

Image

a good clean first...............

Image

i need to machine inwards 4mm for the inner bearing, and 1.5mm for the outer. (just machining depth, not diameter.)

Image

cones and studs fitted back up.

i have to take a poofteenth of the stub axle also, but will have to do this during the week.....will keep uptdating...........

If it all works out well, would you consider doing a few for others?
