I have a 2002 swb GV 2.0l with a code locked oem stereo. I presume that all of the models of similar years would have the same stereo.
Have been to Suzuki, but apparently they didn't come out of the factory with a code. So it's a previous owner code and I have 10000 combinations to try.
I would like a oem stereo to replace mine, if anyone has replaced theirs with an after market unit and still has the stocker hanging around.
Cheers,

Your GV Has the older style dash?

I have a double din stock unit, no code, from a 2004 GV, but it's from the new style dash. Worked great. But it is from the model with the updated dash.

Can I ask why you want a stock unit. There are some great aftermarket ones, the big thing for me was iPod connectivity so I don't have to keep listening to that commercial radio station rubbish anymore.

I did have a pioneer unit, just a cheap one from jb hi if, but it was really bright at night time and started doing funky stuff with the iPod connection and the buttons were quite fiddly.

I instead got a cheap double din unit off eBay from Taiwan cheaper than any unit from any shop in AUS that I could find, it has an easy to use volume knob and mute function, can be wired into the headlight circuit to dim it, or even (using a simple button) switch the screen off, really happy with how it turned out. And it arrived in 4 days!

Keen to part with it for a six-pack of beer or something to that effect?

You pay postage and it's yours. Will fit in a AUS post satchel.

I will take a pic of it tomorrow to make sure it's what you want

Well I have an '04 with the updated dash... pretty sure they only came out with one headunit (XL7 notwithstanding, which had a 6-stacker or some such).

My CD player is screwed, that's all.

You should definitely be chucking a cheap ebay double-din in there rather than stuffing around with the stock unit.

Sezed.
I really just want to plug it into the stock harness, without mucking around with chopping wires.
I am an older model myself and most of my tunes come from my cd's or if it's the radio it's ABC news radio.
Dash looks the same as yours.
Would really appreciate your help if it's going to plug straight in.

It won't. You have the old dash.

Yeah having wired radios into both the older and new style dash, they are slightly different, the new style has steering wheel controls, so extra wires and a different plug.

Don't be daunted by an eBay job, you will get a great product, using whatever harness the radio comes with, there are plenty of people on here who can guide you through it. I use solder and heat shrink, but it is possible to crimp or twist and leccy tape. It really is quite a simple job, especially on this model. All the wires are in one bundle, and you just have to join the harness to the wires in the car, they are the same standard colours, so easy to match and the eBay job I got came with a universal mounting kit, so the screws provided fit the bracket in the car.

Ah, I see. said the blind man.
No problem putting a stereo in. I was just hoping to avoid the hassle.
I'm an electronic tech and am kinda over it by the time I get around to my own stuff.
Like mechanics cars are usually not very well looked after.

That's because both of those photos are the older style dash.

Yep, just for clarity sake, here is the newer style (with the standard radio) dash for comparison:

get an iso loom adapter & run any aftermarket headunit... be fucked if i'd put something like that in my dashboard, maybe hold onto it & use it as a wheel chock.
