Hi all.
I currently have a Sierra on stock g13a.
It sits on 33s with 3.9 diffs and 6.5 xfer gears.
I like it for what it is. Good low range and sits on 90-100 well without screaming.
I have recently put together all the SH!T that one gathers over years to build another car for the hugs and kisses.
It is a swb Sierra with the g13a, It will be running 33x9.5 r16s
I have a few vit front centres 5.1s for the diffs and was considering a set of 4.16s in the xfer.
It had the stock engine ATM but have a g16a junka to go in.

How will this gearing be on both low range and high range.
I started doing calcs and confused myslef.
Any help is appreciated.

without doing the calcs i think you're pretty close. 5.14 and 4.9 will be too low on the highway with 5.1 diffs, especially when you add the extra oomph of the 1.6 to help you up the hills.

The only other concern would be the low range reduction for the driving you do.. 4.16 gears drop high range by 12% and low range by 84% - your diff gears are going to be a whopping 37% reduction on their own - your 33" tyres are 27% larger than factory... If highway is less of a concern then 4.9 tcase might be better as it drops high range by 16% and low range by 115% - which is a significant difference!

With 5.12 diffs and 4.16 xfer

Low 1st 78:1 not great for a manual, but ok. Depends on the wheeling you do.
High range approx 4050rpm at 100 km/h

Thanks.! Thanks shep for the link. I'll have a play. 4.6 diffs would be better but don't particularly wanna spend the coin.
It's no more than an hour at max speed limit of 100kms to all tracks I drive so not too bad I guess.
It's all steep so the lower gearing would help.

I have a few 5.1 centres in the shed. That's the only reason I was trying to get something to work with them. Maybe I'll just have to go to a bigger tyre!
I'll have a search through the local wreckers and see what other diffs are laying around. 4.6 or 4.3 I think would be the go.
But I am a tightarse.
