all going well in the next 2-3 weeks i'll be heading to town to collect a motor to repower my jimny.
one thing i need for the conversion is a 'skinny' vitara starter motor & here in country SA chances are slim to none of locating one.
can anyone advise of a 3rd party/non-oem starter that will likely have the correct dimensions ? i could order the original bosch part, but it's insanely expensive imo.
thanks.

OEX MXS811 to suit Holden Cruze YG M15A
That's what I've got in my sierra, Worked with the 1.3 and 1.6 I'm putting in now.

thanks for that blk, is that just for M series motors or definitely for G series as well (guessing G series as you've got one in your sierra, just wanna double check).

local autopro has quoted $150 for it, very happy, about the part i was most worried about being able to obtain easily.

You can always grind a couple of mm off the side of a 1.3 sierra starter.

i saw chris (?) try that in the green goat thread & i think he killed it, wouldn't mind having a good starter on hand to just bolt up, aiming to only have the car off the road for a couple of days all going well.

I lightly ground down a jimny starter to fit the baleno motor.
