Backspace Method: Measure from the extreme rear edge of the rim to the hub mounting face. Distance "A" in millimetres.
Centreline Method: Measure the overall width of rim (Distance “X”), halve this measurement to find centreline then measure backspace (Distance “A”).
Subtract “A” from “X/2” and you now have the centreline offset, which in Australia is written 35P or 10N to denote either positive or negative centreline offset. In Europe, centreline offset is usually written ET35 or ET-10 etc.
NOTE: The centreline offset measurement is “rim width dependant”, ie. as the width of the rim changes, so does the centreline offset, eg. if you have 14 x 6 wheels with 47P offset and would like to fit 14 x 7 alloys with the same backspace, then the same offset in 14 x 7 is 35P. In both instances, the backspace remains at 135mm.

fuck. i dont know how wide my rims are.
i got a measurement from the center of the tires and they are 53inchs or 1346mm.
give or take 10mm.
and fuck me it leaking oil again from the front seal! mm that would eplain why my brakes are being so shit lately. its driping from the inside of the brake disk gaurd thing onto the rim.
quick question on replacing the seal. the knuckle needs to come off doesnt it? which mean i need new swivel hiub felts?

your rims should have something like 15x7 jj stamped on them some where. once you know the width take one off put a flat edge on the back of the rim lip (300mm steel ruler) & measure down to the hub face & that will give you your back space measurement. from there you can work out the offset.
take some photo's of the rims, you might get lucky & someone might be able to see if they are 15x7's or 15x8's
