Just wondering if any other lwb sierra enthusiasts out there have noticed any weight differences between the maruti lwb body compared to the earlier suzuki lwb body ?
Seems the 2 suzuki lwb bodies i have dealt with are alot lighter than the indian maruti models. Unsure weather this is due to different construction methods but the difference seems quite alot ?

Just had one engineered and was a fair weight difference between existing rego papers and actual weight.
Rego papers stated Tare as 1350 and GVM as 1370. Thats not much of a load/driver weight allowance.
My weigh bridge weight was 1180 on 31's with G16b and AW4.
I would doubt the weights on the rego papers more than a large difference in model weights

Im going purely of the amount of men it takes to lift the bare bodies.
2 men can easily lift a bare lwb body but its a huge difference when lifting the maruti body at least 100 or so kgs it would seem.

Maybe extra weight of the maruti fiberglass roof and rear firewall? All the panels look to be stamped the same. Maybe a heavier steel was used by the indian factory.

From what I can tell the maruti built shells are identical to the Suzuki shells, we have one of each and the steel gauge is the same as well, I have used panels off a donor swb to repair the maruti.

Iirc the maruti weighed around 1110kg with a 1.6 8v and 31" tyres last time it was on a weigh bridge.
