For those of you who have put a 2" body lift in, is a steering shaft spacer needed? And if so where would I find one for my sv420 swb bit?

I've body lifted a few Vitaras and a heap of sierras. Never needed one.

Slightly OT but you don't seem like the type to body lift. Low and flat on big rubber seems more your theme.....

Body lift clears tyres and keeps all the weight of chassis alot lower than a susp lift. But bodys can walk on the mounts in extreme cases

A BL is just a tool to fit bigger tyres. For example, it's quite difficult (but not impossible) to fit 35's on a low sierra without a body lift. For cars with tight guards that are difficult to cut, like a LWB Vitara, a BL can be very useful.

Just extend the steering shaft?

Take it out, and tap it to lengthen it a little.
They are collapsible for crash purposes, there is enough length to safely extend it a tiny bit for a BL.

I didn't really need one for 2" body lift, there was enough in the spline. I fitted some from bits4vits when we went to the 3" body lift.
