Hey Zookers...

So things progressing with the project and engine finally going in this weekend.

I'm planning a new exhaust and have been eyeing off some of the sexy looking extractors on EvilBay. However the stock headers on the 16B almost already look like extractors not like the constricted headers on the 16A.

My question is - is it worth the upgrade?

All feedback appreciated as always. :peaceout:

The g16b manifolds are prone to cracking and those fat looking down pipes are in fact double wall and have a crimped pipe inside them. Check my build thread- the guts of my downpipes were broken and rattling about.

Extractors it is then :woohoo: Not gonna stuff around with the old headers and much easier and cheaper to put on now with new exhaust than later

4 into 1 are the only ones worth doing powerwise most ebay 4-2-1 are junk
I run a jimny g13bb manifold on my g16b and would wager it makes as much or more hp than 90% of ebay extractors

I agree, ebay ones look bad, but some users have some positive feedback about them. as far as I've always been told, the fact of the extractors being tuned length is the most important factor. the whole physics of exhausts etc. are paramount to witchcraft for the majority of us. so you have to rely on a good tuner to produce an efficient exhaust system.

4-2-1 supposed to give you better low end power

4-1 supposed to give you better high rev power

4-2-2-1 apparently best of both worlds. :?:

so depending on your driving style you can match the extractors to suit your needs. as for finding a set of 4-1 tuned length extractors for m13a/m15a/m16a/m18a, I have tried and failed.

Few and far bewtween the old 4-1 for sierras
Re-flanging other model extractors is prob best option if ultimate power out of n/a zook is concerned

I've ordered a set of 4-2-1. Let you know what they're like when they arrive and how they go once installed
