Hi all I installed a dobinsons 40mm lift to my NGV over the weekend and it looks like I made a small error. When I put the rear spring in the rh side I didn't seat the bottom of the spring in the keeper properly. It's about 180 degrees out and the spring sits a bit high. And now the spring sits with a nice curve in it. I have jacked up the car and tried to turn the spring a few different ways but only got about an inch of rotation out of it . The guy who did my alignment didn't notice it either and I don't really want to drop the shock and have to do another alignment on it if I can avoid it.
Apart from buying a set of spring compressors is there another way to rotate the springs in the keepers ?
The probability is you're going to need to re-do the alignment anyway - you're going to lower that corner of the car by something in the region of 13mm - which will in turn raise the diagonally opposite corner of the car by roughly the same amount, change the front ride height of a macpherson strut IFS and the caster & camber will also change.
