Is there any difference in the strength of the two transfers? I was going to fit the NT switched case in my LWB and someone has told me they are heaps weaker then the WT cases.....T or F
Vehicle is a Holden Drover Trayback 1.3 motor and 5 speed and I have been told its a WT transfer with the drum handbrake fitted to it in the LWB utes.

i dont think there is a difference, aslong as they are both 1.3 cases all should be the same.

As per 4x4xzook - there is no difference in strength (internally*) between the NT and WT cases - all parts are interchangeable.
You won't be able to tell if it's a WT or NT transfer if it's had a drum fitted -they're the same.
*Here's the caveat though.
NT sierras use a smaller flange bolt pattern on the yokes and smaller bolts. (8mm) VS WT, Coil and Vitara which use a larger pattern and 10mm bolts. I have heard of people having trouble keeping the NT yokes tight on larger tyred/geared cars. That's the only difference between NT and WT functionally. However, there are no transfer drum brakes with the WT pattern, so that's not an option for you. Additionally, there's little advantage having the large bolt pattern at transfer case and the small pattern at the diffs, so it's a moot point.

Gwagonsteve are you saying as I currently have the transfer brake on the Transfer Case in my vehicle it is a NT version transfer case?

Effectively yes- as the flange patterns and drum are the only difference between wt and nt if you have a drum and 8mm flange bolts you have a nt case.
