Gday guys
I have a few questions i have just brought a 1991 suzuki sierra 1.3 jx soft top with a g13ba engine and a 5speed maunal.
Once the revs gets to 3k there is an extremely loud tinny noise the seams to come frome the engine but i cant quite find out exactly where.
The car has had a previous major service on the 9/10/15 and has only done 3k since includiing
Oil filter z172 10w40 semi syn oil Gasket valve cover Timing belt kit Diff oil 80w90 Gear oil 75w85 Gasket oil pan Water temp sensor Key wat crank Dot 3 break fluid Front main oil seal Cam shaft pully Timing pully
There was quiet a lot of vavle noise so i have reset the valve clearences when hot to .25 on the inlet and .28 on the exhaust. Changed the oil, oil filter and used a valve additive yet the noise is still there. I have also removed the exhaust heat shield thinking that might be rattling and have checked the cat sheild.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Noises are impossible to diagnose on a forum.
Get ready for a list of everything ever.
Sorry. Even posting a video is often unhelpful as the sound isn't directional or good enough.

I was thinking as much but was in the hope that someone had encountered a similar issue and could point me in the right direction of a few things to look at

I understand, but it's just too hard.

Hi Fellas. This is the first time I have ever replied to anything on this site. But, just wondering. You said you reset your rocker clearances to .25 and .28 is that inches your are using? If so, .25 means 250 thou. which is one quarter of an inch. I reckon they should be .006 and .008 Regards, Wayne.

Being a G13ba in a '91, I wonder if it's been swapped from a later model Sierra and it's got a cracked piston skirt?
