Just starting cleaning up an 87 Sierra that I purchased a couple of months ago. Mostly she is in good shape, it started right up with a new battery after sitting in a farmers shed for 5 years, oil and coolant all good. The drive home was about 40ks through the Adelaide hills, but when i got her home and opend up the bonnet there was black muck every where from a slipping fan belt... turns out it was the wrong one so a quick trip to Repco sorted that. Next problem was the transfer case... no low range available... stick just stuck in 2wd. Removed the stick and a new plastic type bushing fixed that up $20 later.
So all good... except I have a clunk at the rear end somewhere, sounds like suspension but the diff could also be moving by the feel of it. Has any one experenced any thing like this before?
