Hey guys,

I've picked up a Vitara power steer set up for the Coily. It has a bracket for the pump but the vehicle its coming from doesn't have AC. I have factory AC in mine so i'm wondering if its as easy as getting a Vitara AC/PS bracket and hoping my AC compressor is similar or looking at a Jimny setup? are Jimny PS pumps same as a vitara (or similar)?

Any help would be great.

What a coincidence that you posted this. 60-ZUK is still running the G13a?

This weekend I was thinking about pulling the power steer bits out and having a look at the pump and whether I could make a bracket. I'd be looking at it during the week but my Sierra and all the parts are about an hour and a bit down the track.

Unfortunately metal work isnt my strong point so hoping to hear of an off the shelf suzuki part answer too.

Jimny, vit and baleno pumps seemed very similar mounting wise, i know the inlet hose can be different between vits, so would expect some variation between models.
My soft top sierra has vit p/steer, and a whole jimny set up to go in my tintop.
Soft top used a custom bracket with vit pump bracket.
Non modified, the pulley does belts on the radiator bracket.
Jimny bracket is quite different, so too is baleno.

Trying to package a/c and p/steer may be a challenge.

Baleno's ps pumps are up high.

I can try fit a vit pump in a high Baleno bracket. It might be a good start. I don't have a Baleno ps pump to compare.

G16b are taller than the cute G13a/b/ba/bb so theres going to be some differences with the bracket fitting on the block.

The bracket is small and mild steel, so it can be easily modified.

Im pretty sure the jimny pump will fit in the baleno bracket. I Looked into it, i think it would require some mods to fit really well (balenos have an engine mount bracket that sits behind it, which makes the p /steer pump sit out more than it needs to.)
But fitting the a/c in a baleno bracket, it's into the radiator support bracket and chassis.

This is why I was thinking Vit or Jimny brackets, as they have ac and ps standard.

Vit brackets dont fit, they are into the chassis rail and radiator support bracket.

Sierra chassis rails are closer together than Jimny and Vit

Jimny a/c is just as low as baleno and will be just as into the radiator support/sierra chassis.
Might even be worse than the baleno bracket.

Im just going to throw this out there, but perhaps there was a reason why suzuki only offered the option of power steering or air con, not both in a sierra.

The baleno one tucks in nicely, and should clear the chassis, it will be a SOB to squeeze in and install.
But the radiator support bracket (welded to chassis), and radiator bracket is in the way.


You could tilt the engine over and trim the radiator support bracket, and bracket - been done before
Move the radiator support bracket, and straighten the bracket - seems like the option I will take.

I used all vitara bits in mine. Power steering pump, AC compressor and brackets. Pretty sure your AC compressor is the same denso one as mine so it all should bolt up. Only mod I had to do was trim the radiator bracket and rad bracket chassis mount. This was on a g16b. Should be easy enough to adapt the mount to your 1300 tho. I'll grab some pics when I get a chance

Very interested in this thread because I have a Baleno G 16 with jimny power steering and I have just found Sierra air conditioning that I want to try and fit as well

Here's what it looks like in my rig

Not sure if the coily is the same as a WT but all I had to do was trim the radiator bracket on the chassis and the radiator upright bracket. No biggy.

Are you looking to replace the whole standard setup?

My pump has the wrong pulley on it at the moment, so I am going to change that over to a v-belt style (will this handle the pumps needs?) so couldnt set the distance forwards and back on the weekend. So ended up as far as a template to fit the front of the pump. Back of the pump I'll probably just run a strap to an extractor bolt, dodgy yes but my sierra isnt regoed these days.

I plan to mount the pump off the same bolt points the AC bracket is, with a new claw shaped bracket directly against the block and the OE suzuki bracket on top of it and perhaps tack welded together once I know the alignment is OK. The pump Want33s sent me is tiny and there looks to be plenty of room to high mount it above the compressor.
