Hi all just wondering what people's thoughts/experience is with these, I'm tossing up between the 2 for my sierra. What were the pro's and con's of both? I was thinking about just getting 4.16:1 as I'm only running 30's and won't be doing too much rock crawling stuff, mainly beach and mud.

Any help much appreciated! :peaceout:

I agree with this for an otherwise stock manual car. But I'll just add for future reference to this topic that if diff gears have been changed or running an auto it requires a bit more consideration.
I'm running aw4, 4.9 tcase and 5.12 diffs on 33's and its spot on for Victorian terrain and doesn't drive over the auto too much, 6.5's would be too low and drive over the brakes a lot in low range.

It's a big job to make an auto work. regardless of which one.

Trimatic from vitara - shorten jackshaft, widen trans tunnel, some minor wiring etc, crossmember to mount and its the G16 bellhousing pattern

AW4 from vitara - more or less the same as a trimatic but theres a lot more on the electrical side of things
