Hello, just some information first

I have an sj70 and the steering box is in need of replacement due to, too much play, keeps darting all over the road, tie rods have been replaced and steering box has been adjusted and there is still play.

So i know i need a replacement box and have been told just to do the power steer upgrade, i know what i need to get as there is alot of information on her for it

But my question is:

What if i do the power steering and theres still play in the power box?can it be rebuilt? I am just unsure as to how they work because ive never delt with one yet

What should i look for when grabbing one out of a a zook

And what zook should i grab it out of, vitara,jimny ect

Any information and or links to information of pictures here or other pages of the install would be muchly appreciated.

No, there are no replacement hard parts for suzuki steering boxes available. If the replacement power steering box can’t be adjusted to meet factory preload specs, it’s a throwaway, however the vitara boxes I’ve enountered don’t seem to have worn anywhere near as badly as Sierra boxes of a similar age/km.

Keep researching if it’s not clear whether to use a jimny or vitara box. You can use either but the installation is different.
