Hi all; I am wondering if anyone would have a rear diff centre for an SJ80 Sierra, 1998 model, that you might be inclined to sell. I have manged to break a bunch of teeth off my crown wheel and pinion. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions that anyone may have for me. Regards Rod.

Hi Rod,i have a Coily diff that needs a new Pinion,if that's any help i'll try and find it on the W/end and post a Pic.I'm down Lismore way. The other option is to contact one of the Jap. Spares importers in Sydney or Brisbane, only problem is the Coily is getting old now but you may be lucky.

I might get confirmation from someone that knows, but the REAR(only)from SJ80 should have the same ring pinion and ratio to the sj50..

An SJ80 doesn’t have rear spindles as the axle is semi floating and the axle splines are the same as every other Sierra rear- 26 spline. All factory Sierra front axles are 22 spline regardless of model.
As has been pointed out, ratio is 3.9, same as NT 1.3 Sierra.
The sj80 cast housing is different as it has a bracket for a vibration damper. This isn’t relevant if you only need gears. If you swap the whole third member in from a 1.3 NT, you’ll need to use 1/2 of a 1.3 tailshaft, swap the yoke on the tailshaft diff end to suit the 1.3 NT, or swap the sj80 pinion flange onto the NT pinion, which will require a new crush sleeve and care when setting up to achieve the correct bearing preload.

G'day
I am also looking for a SJ50 or SJ80 rear crown wheel and pinion. I was about to post when I saw this one. Does anybody know a source for new ones. I have been ringing around and got no luck so far. Regards Chris from Dubbo.
