I do all my welding with it pretty much.
I just bought a tig setup for it as well
Only thing I've found shit about it is it's very crap at welding car panels

Only had to do a few welds so no need to waste money on a mig
I'm good a oxy. Way better at it then, mig, tig, and stick

Ive got one of the new tradetools 180's. Yes its a cheap unit and everyone bags out on cheap units, but for what I do it works very well. It sticks metal to metal... has a euro fitting so gun replacement/liners are easy... and its pretty cheap.. no need to go spend $1000 on a big name brand with similar specs.

I don't understand why you keep saying you don't want a MIG, but an inverter will do the job.

The term 'Inverter' just refers to the power source. You can get inverter MMA, TIG and MIG

What you are asking about ( as far as I can tell) is Inverter MMA/TIG machines.

I have one of these for portable welding. Comes with MMA and TIG leads etc. All you'll need is a Reg and gas to use TIG. MMA is plug and play. I've got quite a few hours up on mine so far and it hasn't missed a beat.

yep i would love a mig, however $$$ is a thing and also a arc/tig will do what i want atm. i also want to do some tig work in the future.

you do realise that tig requires a gas rental and is by far the most expensive and slowest form of welding besides oxy welding

you do realise that yes i have done some tig welding, and a few mates rent gas so i can loan a bottle for a weekend or what ever.

do they have the right gas for what tig welding you want to do. and stainless you will need pure argon it doesnt like normal argon carbon dioxide mix like what most people have on their mig and argon is to expensive to waste. for not much more and you can get an inverter mig that will do tig welding as well it will also come with a tig torch and gas line and the mig gun is a euro fitting easy to swap.

Ive been tiging with argo shield on mild lately it works ok , but then it works well with mig so there's no reason why it wouldnt.

I mig stainless with argoshield with good results as well.
but the more I get back into tig the more I remember how fucking slow and painfull it is

i will be using it to build my camper trailer (frame etc, all the bigger stuff on the trailer, hitch etc, will be done with a bigger mig) and small jobs on the zook

I was given one of them at my last job, and it worked awesome. I was a forklift mechanic and mostly used it to repair load gaurds and weld hose brackets onto masts etc. Was good for around 5mm mild steel

i love tig welding especially when wearing ear plugs no one else to bother you in your own little world i kinda really enjoy ally tig cause the end result looks sexy.

must of miss interpreted my post before i meant that i use pure argon for my tig welder and argosheild mix for my mig. you can tig weld stainless with argosheild mix but it really isnt fun to do very frustrating and not as nice weld quality.
