actually Landy n Rangies have the most wheel travel in stock form than any 4wd.. pretty sure its still the case, although the new line of RR are HARDLY offroaders.. would you pay that kinda $$ to wheel the bejezus out of a 'luxury car'!?

I love the new 90's thou.. Old man is looking at a Disco!.. I squirm at the idea...

Shakes is also an EX RR owner... had a pretty sweet rig if anyone recalls it on OL...

edit: Disco.. not defender.. wouldnt squirm in THAT way if twas a def.!

That's alright I've rebuilt my suspension with washers anyway LOL

I could own a restore 80's rangie. 8)

Or a defender ute. Don't know why but they just look cool.

back to helping out. in a simple answer check the wheel arches and side skirts thats where i found rust on the one i bought last week.

My two cents - test the car when it's completely cold. A warm motor will make a dodgy old clapper seem a bit more driver friendly than it actually is.

A cold motor will reveal it's true condition.

Also, make sure the circle spin ratio matches, front to back.

there are plenty more where they came from, there's a time & a place for them & i reckon i almost got that one 100% spot on?


Hotshot,

i think the circle spin ratio is when you jack both wheels off the ground & spin them, they should spin opposite directions at the exact same rate.

you need to check the front & back diffs have the same circle spin ratio otherwise that means the circle spin ratio is out & can cause epic failures.



this not 100% true...infact it was a drunken quote by someone off this forum
