You are more likely to have wheel stand problems with super flexy but uncontrolled suspension than a dual locked rig with average flex. Lockers (and gearing in the case of a zook) enable you to slowly crawl places without needing to give it a bootful. meaning that big wheelstands and the like are much less likely. You may lift wheels but it will be smooth and controlled. But thanks to the lockers drive wont be lost, where as with big flex even though you may have a wheel drooped out and touching the ground, there will be no weight on it. Without any mass pushing down there will be little traction and you will spin that wheel and lose drive from that axle. Again im not having a go, just wondering why you dont like lockers.
Layto.... I've just never liked a 4x4 that was locked simply because it's the best value capability modification you can do. Might as well punch in the cheat codes to offroading. My 4x4 friends drive anything from stock LWB Vitaras to Exo Caged Twin Locked GQ Utes on 38.5" Creepys I see some of the places the unlocked 4x4s can get, with the help of 35s and flex.. It's quite amazing where you can go with a good line and a helpful spotter to guide you I can't drive everything those unlocked guys on 35s drive.. And i'd love to. And from what i see, Lockers aren't everything.. Sure the locked up trucks make it a little easier, but at the end of the day even they are limited by flex and wheel traction I'm not totally against lockers, i'm just not sure they're the right move at the moment. And if i did buy them, i would get those autolockers front and rear (At the same time) No need to relearn how to drive twice lol. People will say get Airlockers.. But seriously, hand me your VISA and i'd be glad to. Can't justify spending such a rediculous amount of money on something that will only help me on maybe 1/4th of the tracks i explore with friends Thanks Layto, do you have any comments regarding the shackle angle? Diff movement? Bumpstops etc? Was hoping you and Gwagen might have some advice
One of the few times i'll agree with Jccck.
Lockers take the fun out of it... i've seen so many people, especially those who are new to wheeling jump into twin locked cars and never learn how to drive "properly" because as soon as they flex out or lose traction, they hit the switch rather then attempting a new line... I think you would be suprised just how many people on here share the same opinion...
I wont be getting lockers for a good while, for the simple fact, that while i do drive stupid shit, its still not at a level that cant be driven unlocked. I wont get lockers until i get to a point where i'm going out and the only place i can go unlocked is off the trailer.

The flex is good, Im not sure you will get much more out of it with bumpstops as it looks with the body on that angle, the bushes might be maxed out and restricting you and making the drivers side tyre lift already.
These pics might help explain the side loading situation.

where in newy are you at? I'm actually out near Nelson Bay, so it's another 25mins north of Newwy I need to move the spring hangers back about an inch or so.. I'm wasting like 15 degrees of downtravel because the shackle angle is too flat at rest. Easy fix i hope Rear is showing some problems, might have to revert to the 2" ext shackle.. And redrill/move the spring hanger to suit Rear is going up fine, but because of the spring length its got a much larger radius on it than the fronts.. So i need a flatter shackle angle to compensate for it not flattening as well as the front I think this is right? Thanks, i think alot of people here are forgetting it's just a RUF.. With 2" springs, not like i'm 3linking the front or anything
And that pic definantly clears up the side pressure thing
You are probably right on the bushes, i did throw a scissor jack inbetween the axle and chassis.. Spread it quite alot more but the shackle wouldn't get past vertical without me having to put some strain on the suspension.. Bushes definantly maxxed
Also what's with your front shackle? Is that to prevent it from inverting?

You're going to put a car that weights 900Kg on springs for a car that weighs 2.5t
Have fun with that one mate...

I'm not dumb enough to run the whole spring pack! Only the maon leaf with one or two sierra leaves to stop axel wrap.
