Guys i'm going to onesteel shortly to get some pipe/tube and bends for my rear bar and sliders. My question is as follows:

I'm going to be using seamless black pipe what size should i make the rear bar out of and also what wall thickness?

What would be strong enough

What have other people used

I will be using he 90degree and 45 degree bends to get the curves

I will be making a basic rear bar with recovery points and a intergrated reece tow hitch, and LED tail lights.

Also will be putting a swingaway tyre carrier and jerry can holder

Cheers

Conrad

EDIT:

Going to copy this bar below should be good:

32nb is the popular choice

Standard weight seamless is 3.5mm thick, Medium CHS is 3.2mm thick

Seamless is not a structural pipe, CHS is and will likely cost less for a guy off the street

32nb seamless Xtra Strong is 4.85mm thick, sch160 is 6.35, if you can get some of that for your sliders they might cop the hits better

i can get the 32nb with a 3.2 wall for $56.76 for 6.5 metre length from my local scrap metals man (J&P Metals Bunbury)

Onesteel do the thicker pipe for $78 per 6.5m length with a wall thickness of 4.85mm.

Bends are between $2.5-$4.5 per bend

A 6.5m length will do my rear bar and my sliders hopefully.
