hi guys got a 1.6 efi vitara motor in my sierra and got a small problem. when i drive the car normally it drives fine but soon as i put my foot flat it kinda bogs down with a weird "deep missing" noise? i disconnected the afm wile the engine was running and the revs jumped up so im guessing thats still fine. but i think it might be the o2 sensor because its wired to the ecu with just normal wire like what comes out of the ecu. is the 02 sensor supposto be wired a certain way?

it will be anything but your 02 sensor. with your foot flat the ecu won't be taking any notice of the 02. check your ignition system starting with those bakerlite spark plug lead tubes. look for white spots were the spark has been jumping through the side of the tube to the head.

Odd. When I unplug the MAF sensor the idle usually drops.

hmm wen i inplug it idle deffinately increases. and all the leads are brand new with no signs of the spark jumping through

Check yer fuel pressure, and your fuel filter, you can test your TPS with a volt meter. Hows yer cap and rotor? new with the wires?

It is either dropping spark, or not getting enough fuel.

Check your plugs and leads, sounds like it's breaking down in the ignition system.
