Blocked pollen filter does not allow water to drain freely out of vehicle. Learned the hard way as water flowed back into cabin onto ECU and burnt out.

What about leaving it out? If you take it to the dealer they might be able to match it up. If you do find one take note of the part number!! Also check the drain hole for the air box, they tend to block up with dirt after a while

the pollen filter doesn't impact the water draining out of the evaporator box under the dash. there is a separate drain at the bottom of the black plastic shroud that takes the water out of the passenger compartment.
This hose can get blocked with leaves and gunk that has found its way into the fan intake.

did you change the filter yourself? if so did you clean the drain line while you were at it to stop the event recurring?

Due to hissy fit when first joined cleared posts......but have not had water problem since.....

99 - 04 are all the same. I have a 99 and I replaced mine with an 02.
It's located vertically behind your glove box. it has a small cover over it, pull it off, pull the top filter out, then the bottom filter, blow them out with an air nozzle and put them back in in the same order, however, they are more difficult to get back in than they are to get out. Helps to take your glove box out too, just squeeze the sides together and it will fall out.

You can get them on the US ebay....not too pricey but if you give yours a good clean with some compressed air it should be fine. I noticed my air con was colder after i cleaned mine

I pulled mine out & threw it in the bin..

T'was an option on the early Gv's, so some may not even have em..

2 different type's, I have only notice the Xl7's differ to the Gv's..

cleaned mine just b4. it was full of crap. Mine was a 2 piece filter. clean enough for now but i might look at replacing it later.

I've found some bad reviews about that brand of filter. It's the correct size but the filter medium is not as dense as OEM. I've found FRAM brands are better quality and half the OEM price. It's meant to have activated carbon filtering and baking soda to filter out smells:

I've just pulled mine out, its filthy and its a one piece filter not two like above.
