Ive got a mate that just bought another soft top sierra. It has had the back cut off it he wants to know what is the best way to weld up the back to box in the cab. What have yous used to weld on. Or is there anything you can buy premade for it? Thanks

Best way would be to get a tin top body, chop the back and roof off it and then weld it onto the cut off bits of soft top you have.
But then, if you have a good tin top just swap it for the hacked up bits of the soft top and call it done?

the maruti roof does that just bolt on like a hard top?

Mine is welded up using a hardtop doner body... i think it looks neat
not sure how painful it was to do as i didnt do it

Maruti Roof wont work if the back of the car is missing.. you will still need to cap off the bottom of it.

also i think a problem with welding a back on a car that was never designed for it is they flex to much and crack
Hell cap5ze had a flat wall welded in to cap off where the lwb tub was cut off and it cracked and it was still a ssoft top
Im thinking u would be better off making something that bolted onAt least it would allow some flex

I'm doing a soft top cut, I'm just going to get a trailer place to fold up a bit of sheet so it has strength across top & look like the fold on a stock soft top & will brace across floor with bit of rhs or angle..

I used plywood, a rear window from a hard top and some alloy bracing.
