G'day lads,

I know this has been covered 3 million times and ive read everything i can read.
This issue is pretty simple, the car will not idle on start up, not idle while warm, but randomly idle at 1200rpm.

so far i have:
-done timing
-replaced ignition coil, leads, plugs
-checked timing
-checked vacuuming leaks
-checked distributor timing what-cha-ma-call-it (mechanic did it)
-check compression - 120psi each cylinder
-replaced all vac lines just in case
-checked choke, working as it should
- new radiator and lines, flushed while replacing
-check throttle cable for rough spots, grabs, movement, whatever.
-sprayed start ya bastard around to triple check for vacuum leaks, nothing found.
-mechanic adjusted idle to sit at pretty much bang on 1k which sounded how it should (i know standard idle is around 800-900rpm)

after checking timing car idled like a dream for about a week. The problem cropped its head back up this week and the car just refuses to idle at all now, just dies through the ass.

Stock standard 1.3L sj50 ( engine stock, body not stock)

Any help would be appreciated.

Gotta be the only thing left!!

I’m pretty disheartened at the stock carby, better to replace them with something that works better IMO

Yep,plenty of Threads on here and other Forums about carby problems, not just Suzuki, emission era carbs from the 1980's are a nightmare when they go wrong, minute passageways can get blocked and not be fixed with a rebuild.
Fit a new carby.

Is it just me or does anyone else think 120 psi on a compression test is on the low side?
