I need to change oil seal in dizzy and have only sierra manual so I'm not sure if it is similar. Does dizzy have only one oil seal and o-ring at the bottom where the gear is? Is it easy to chnge, I mean if I pull dizzy out, I will have to set the timing right? From what I've seen on sierra manual seal is under a cap and o-ring at the bottom, so dizzy needs to be removed. What usually leaks? Oil doesn't leak from under the cap, at least I can't see it.


Service manual????
I've downloaded service manual from auszookers download link, but it covers only EFI engine, not carby(which I have in my zook). Does anyone have or knows where I can get 16a service manual?

G16a and g13a are pretty much the same take a look at the standard Sierra manual should be in there

i wouldnt think you have to remove the actual dizzy then the cap if you take the 3 bolts off the cap slide it straight off you could possibly keep it right and replace the seal which is on the cap and is not hard to swap or if you need to try make a mark of where it all sits so you can put it the right way back in

I think he's talking about where the dizzy bolts to the head not the cap

Thx. I would say that it doesn't leak from under the dizzy cap, its dry. But its coming somewhere from the dizzy body. Drips from the bottom on gearbox so I don't know wher it cold be. I will try work it out from sierra manual what could it be. I guess it should be somewhere between the dizzy and the head as zookster666 said. Is there any seal over there or some kind of sealant/gasket?

Two clip's for the dizzy cap & cap off, mark where the rotor is poining or point it to top dead center, mark the 12mm headed bolt at the dizzy adjusting/retaining bolt from dizzy to head, remove bold, twist(not to far, the arc of the adj should be enough) & pull dizzy out watching the direction the rotor turn's. Undo the 3 bolt's for the dizzy housing, clean & replace O'ring, replace O'ring on dizzy & carefully do the reverse to assemble

"O" ring worth about $2.
First time I did it I took a picture of the rotor position. Just don't turn the motor while the dizzys out. Don't know why you would do that but just had to say it.

Just watch for the rotor rotation when you take it out and allow the same when you re-assemble.
This was the first oil leak I fixed on my Zuke.

Check the position against the photo.

thx guys, where I could get the o-ring from, what kind of shops have them? I could have one from work, but I need to know what size is it roughly, so I can take few different sizes and fit the right one.

Did you have a look round while you were in there? you could just about build a new zook from part's!!

I did have a look round, I probably get new seals for my doors. Probably most of the dust comes in from tailgate area anyway, another thing to do.
