Hey guys went to move my car and it didn't turn on...
Turn the key and all I got was a single click, checked the starter cables, battery cables and everything is connected. The lights inside and outside the cab come on, but it is not even trying to turn over.
It is a 86 Holden Drover with standard engine etc, has a brand new starter motor in it which is only 3 months old.
There is hardly any fuel in it and it has sat for about 2 weeks in the driveway.
The car is also in a position that I can't rock it back and forwards to check that the starter motor is not stuck.
Any advice as to what would be making it not turn on?

fuseable link connection next to the battery.
big spade terminal.
check that or bypass it and see.
if its faulty just make sure it ends up back there as lackof one is what caused my loom fire.

Cheers Royce, cleaned the connections and fully charged the battery last week though... perhaps it is new battery time...

single click = loose or dirty connection, especially if your headlights and so on still work
got a multimeter? check the voltage at the battery terminals (right on the posts) and again down at the starter, they will be different and drop right off when you hit the key

By click, do you mean the starter solenoid is pulling or what.
There is a trigger wire that is on the solenoid, if that is not on nothing happens.

Hmmm just wondering if the Drovers inherited the famous Sierra starter click...
If its not the battery, there is a plugin cable about 40cm long, that goes from the ignition key to the firewall, that gets problems, i had it play up on my Vit, but the Sierra cable plugs straight in i thought i had a dicky starter motor, bought one for $220, put it on, same problem, took it to a Zook mechanic, he knew what it was straight away, lol...
