Found this whilst trawling the interweb http://muddyzook.co.uk/store/index.php? ... roductId=6 but uses rover 600 rear calipers, the predecessor to the rover 75, not all that common down under? I remember reading somewhere people are using pintara rear calipers? any ideas?

I have a setup that'll run Pintara rear calipers on Sierra front discs to suit the rear of my Zook.
Pintara calipers are same as Magna.... CHEAP and have integrated handbrake.

Have you looked into the kit Low Range Offroad offer? Uses sierra rotors and calipers on the rear. Need to swap out the propotioning valve though.
Cant say I know of anyone here thats done this conversion though and I have no idea as to its legality here in Oz.

Problem with that kit is you end up with no hand brake, cos your using sierra front calipers on the rear.
They can be signed off by an engineer in QLD

Ah, righto. I see the problem.
Whats the big draw to rear disks anyhow? I can appreciate the change if it were for a high performance car, or a vehicle that it used to tow frequently but I dont see the real gain to be had on a car like a vit or sierra. Its not like they dont pull up well enough with the stock brakes. Is there another aspect I'm overlooking?

You can fix the handbrake issue by also buying an E-brake kit from them...

Discs dont need adjsuting or replacing everytime you go near mud
contrary to popular belief, discs dont pull up better than drums, they jsut resist fade better and look after themselves for longer periods without maintainence

Granted, but for the price that would cost, you can pick up a set of rear calipers from a wreckers. Jigsaw out a plate to the right shape. and end up only spending about $100 all up in materials and time.
