Everyone talks about 2" spring lifts. Anyone tried the 3" springs?
Pro's and con's?
Cheers

That's a bit cheaper, paying for a pair rather than 1 spring pack.
I don't see a problem with height or tipsiness, considering most run 2in spring's & 2in shackle's, I would much rather run std shacjle's & bigger spring's.

They are good if your running with a bit of weight. In a SWB they will be very rough if you run light. but other then that they are good.

My Calmini 3 inch springs were stiff and didnt offer any extra flex. From what I have seen of the Trail Gear ones they are about the same. My rear ones work well up front though. I would recomend the Doesch Tech shocks that Low Range sell over the Calmini ones as well.

if you sent them an email and asked for the postage you would find it would probably be like $1000 less than that.

Yes, but bare in mind my stock ones were 17 years old so its a bit of an unfair comparison

Sean at Lowrange is usually pretty good at replying, however it is apparently a small business so he can get snow under from time to time because he is so popular over there and here.

Fatchickscantjump wrote: where'd you get you calmini systems from shepp. i bought a wreck that had pretty much every product that calmini makes on it. the car had done a lot of work when i bought it and that is probably the reason that i like the springs as someone else ran them in for me. also a lot of the calmini stuff is just plane dodgey and i put a lot of bits in balls scrap bin. i kept the springs, front u bolt plate things and the u bolts. i was running calmini shocks but they are truly crap and as i wasn't using the shackle reversal stuff the springs push the front diff forwards heaps which wrote the front shocks off on the bump stop mount. lots and lots of playing around to get it right but i am happy with it now however i would not buy the 5" kit but i would buy the springs. 89_tintop wrote: what kind of noise is it shep?
the springs have a militry wrap at both ends of the spring and on the back
springs at the eye end the wrap hits the chassis when the spring unloads.
no biggie just a bit noisy.

just a little heads up. a little secret If you go to your local pedders or spring place you can get 2 " or 3" lifted springs for around $80 each here in australia. If you go in there and ask for sierra springs they will fuck you. If you go in there and ask for springs to order they are cheap. measure the eye to eye length tell them its for a home made buggy and its total weight is around the 1 ton mark.
Try it you will be supprised the price.
Just a nother tip form someone that knows nothing.
